Reading Comprehension Practice

Our teacher gave us three texts to read about New Zealand things, like Waitangi Day, Monarch Butterflies, and a story about a cultural treasure. My favourite fact I learnt was the koro part

We had to read the texts really carefully to find answers (Retrieval), figure out what the writer meant (Inference), and put ideas together (Integrate).

For each story, we had to become researchers and find the perfect photo to explain a tricky word from the text, like ‘Commemorates’ or ‘Tangible.

Immersion Assembly, LET THE MUSIC PLAY.

Today we had our school immersion Assembly. So first Mr Burt,Mr Jay and Mr Somerville did a song to start off our immersion Assembly and the song they sang was golden.

Team 1 did a movie and they talked about doing everyday things and playing music when they do it. Next Team 2 went and they did a movie and they talked about emotions with music in the back and the music went with the emotions.

Next Team 3 went and they were playing music with cups. Next we had Team 4 and they did songs that go with their day. Last we had team 5 team 5 teachers did a game if the kids were smarter with country music from all around the world so our theme for term 4 is LET THE MUSIC PLAY!.
